They do whatever their clerics (Imams) tell them to do. Since not all clerics tell them to do the same thing, generalizing questions such as yours make no sense whatsoever.
Not all clerics are the same. Therefore, not all Islamics are the same - just as here in the U.S. not all Christians are the same because the clergy members who tell them what to do are not the same.
All religions have some members who want to convert the world to their way of thinking, and some who have a "live and let live" attitude. Islamics are no different. Why should they be?

I believe the Quaran says Muslim duty is to "Kill the
Infidel". That is you, me, Jew, Christian, Atheist, Agnostic, Black, White, Latino, Asian, Man, Woman, Child. That is scary.
Now, that being said, I don't believe the average "man on the street" Muslim believes that. At least I hope not.
