If it is(2/5)(10-w) = 7
10-w = 35/2
10-35/2 = w
-15/2 = w

or if you mean:
2/(5(10-w))= 7
2/(50-5w) = 7
2/7 = 50-5w
2/7-50 = -5w
(2/7-50)/-5 = w
(49 5/7)/5 = w

2/5 ( 10-w ) = 7

1) 2/5 = 0.4

2) 7/ 0.4 = 17.5

3) so now 10 - W = 17.5

4) - W = 17.5 - 10 = 7.5

5) so W = - 7.5

now put ( - 7.5 ) value in the equation in the place of W

2/5 ( 10 - ( - 7.5 ) and it equal 7

Good luck :)

2/5(10-w) =7
5/2 x 2/5 (10-w) = 5/2 x 7
10-w=35/2=17.5
-w=17.5-10=7.5
w = -7.5
