Chicago is a great place to see and live. Its diversity of many races and cultures is exciting. In the Loop you can see every type of human being every day of the week. It makes you proud to be an American.

I live in Chicago and it's an incredible city. Always something to do especially in summer. It's a city the caters to all ages. For a city with so many people, there isn't a whole lot of crime. I'm not saying there is no crime but I don't think it's up there like New York or even LA.
The best things are those festivals. Almost every weekend you have something going on at Grant Park. My favorite is The Taste of Chicago. Where else would you be able to see Erika Badu for free?
One trivia fact though. It's not called the windy city because of the weather, it's because of the politians.
Speakingn of which George Ryan got 6 years for his role in that bribe thing.

Its the best city.....Chicago has everything for everyone and if its not here its coming. I love the city especially in the summer because there is always something going on. All the major tours come thru here and small once too. Beutiful Women, Nice beaches, great schools (colleges), and the cops are some of the most understanding. But Like every big city it has its fair share of problems, but there is def more good than bad, it usually depends where you are

I Love it. But I think it all depends on preference.
I like the downtown atmosphere of Chicago, its a big city, but it has some of the midwest pace of life to it, which tends to be a little more relaxed than out east, but a bit quicker than down south. Since I thrive on balance, this combo is enjoyable to me.
I like the blue collar/white collar mix as well in the city, it provides a multitude of options in entertainment, companions, jobs and culture choices.
Also, Chicago has a mix of historic & modern, commerce & industry - both greatly advantageous to its architecture and culture.
If I had my choice, I would probably live there :)

Yes, it's a great city. I was born and raised there. Lakeshore Drive at night is beautiful. There's so much to do. You have to love city life. I live in the country now and I miss Chicago....)(

I love living here and I think its a great place to be. Great restaurants, entertainment, clubs, and views. The people are diverse and so are i historical places. It is just a great place to be and it's just a short drive to suburban and rural areas with give you a taste of the simple life without the hustle and bustle of the city. It's just a great place to visit and live.

Been there. Nice to visit, wouldn't want to stay. I am from wide open spaces in the South. Chicago is a bit too crowded for me.

CHICAGO
HOG Butcher for the World,
Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat,
Player with Railroads and the Nation's Freight Handler;
Stormy, husky, brawling,
City of the Big Shoulders:
They tell me you are wicked and I believe them, for I
have seen your painted women under the gas lamps
luring the farm boys.
And they tell me you are crooked and I answer: Yes, it
is true I have seen the gunman kill and go free to
kill again.
And they tell me you are brutal and my reply is: On the
faces of women and children I have seen the marks
of wanton hunger.
And having answered so I turn once more to those who
sneer at this my city, and I give them back the sneer
and say to them:
Come and show me another city with lifted head singing
so proud to be alive and coarse and strong and cunning.
Flinging magnetic curses amid the toil of piling job on
job, here is a tall bold slugger set vivid against the
little soft cities;
Fierce as a dog with tongue lapping for action, cunning
as a savage pitted against the wilderness,
Bareheaded,
Shoveling,
Wrecking,
Planning,
Building, breaking, rebuilding,
Under the smoke, dust all over his mouth, laughing with
white teeth,
Under the terrible burden of destiny laughing as a young
man laughs,
Laughing even as an ignorant fighter laughs who has
never lost a battle,
Bragging and laughing that under his wrist is the pulse.
and under his ribs the heart of the people,
Laughing!
Laughing the stormy, husky, brawling laughter of
Youth, half-naked, sweating, proud to be Hog
Butcher, Tool Maker, Stacker of Wheat, Player with
Railroads and Freight Handler to the Nation.
