could anyone tell me if an emu would be a good pet, considering it being in a 400 m2 space? and not just to have it there, but to interact with other people and maybe animals, I'd like an answer from someone who has been with them also, and not just a "yes theyre wonderful" response but the pros and cons, are they smart? how do they smell, would they be aggressive in any situation if you raise them from chicks, etc

They smell, you have to keep their area clean or it can really smell bad. The males can be really agressive especially if theres a female and they've made a nest to mate ect...

If you got a lot of space and time to devote to caring for them I'd say go for it, but they are a LOT of work

Really, if you're looking for a pet for emotional reasons, Emus are the abusive relationship.
I've had a couple friends who had them and have spent some time with the creatures. I love animals, but they are definitely not on my list as pets. They'll be all nice one minute and peck the Sh*t out of you the next. They're frickin' mean when they're not running away from you.

Maybe get a pygmy goat instead.

they're huge, so i anticipate you survive an acreage, so as that the emu ought to have a good type of room. they could get lonely, so human beings regularly have more effective than one. they're regularly truly aggressive and may actually be dealt with via those those who're very experienced with great creatures/birds. they could damage different animals and/or human beings very badly and extremely prefer to be extra up round different emu and with the human beings who're going to maintain them. Do a good type of learn!!!! this isn't some thing you need to pass into gently! good success!

Not really, they are not a social bird to humans, can be very aggressives, smell & require alot of care. Also they escape their enclosure quit often & are awful to catch when this happens. Having had some experience with these birds I would suggest you get yourself another pet perhaps a bird of the smaller domestic variety.
