Whoever coined "spontaneous communication" in this list should be applauded.
I believe it's all in the vehicle. I don't mind it in chat, when I'm in YM my spelling is rarely corrected before I hit send because it slows the chat and the immediate response is key.
Something like this? I go both ways; if it's a goofy question or answer I won't dwell on it too much, if it's a serious response I'll click spell check and visually proof it.
Since I am reading Eats Shoots and Leaves right now, I'm eye-balling a lot of commas these days!

Your punctuation kinda stinks too.
Generally, I think it is rude to point out errors in spelling and punctuation. That being said, I pay more attention to a well written document than a poorly written one. good spelling and punctuation is part of making sure your audience can understand what you are trying to say.
It all depends on how well you think. A good thinker can get away with the occasional mispelled word and still get his point across. A poor thinker can't. We've all seen posts that make absolutely no sense at all.

Language and its use is a fundamentally powerful thing. In our society, the way you communicate, whether verbally or in writing, tells a great deal about you, and people, for good or ill, will judge you based on your accuracy. So, go ahead, be careless, demonstrate your lack of skill for the world to see. You will be judged, fairly or unfairly, by your carelessness. If I comment on an error, or try to correct someone, or suggest to someone they would be better off being careful and accurate, then I am only trying to pass on a lesson that is very, very important. For example, want a good job? Then don't make even a small error in form on a resume or application. Want to sling burgers all your life? Then don't learn proper English. By the way, languages are always capitalized....

Well, most people are rude on here in the first place so, they have to look for something to make fun of. I will have to say that most of the time I do not care. I also understand that everyone has typo's BUT when are people going to realize that loose and lose are totally different words?

No, i absolutely disagree. If you can't type there's always spell check and then the dictionary is handy too. Merriam Webster has an online dictionary. There's no excuse for using sub-standard English.

I couldn't care less if your grammar is terrible in cyber space, so long as it's solid in your essays. With that said, everyone makes mistakes, including English majors like myself.

Thank you ! I am so tired of the spelling and grammar police. This is a place to mingle and communicate. It is not a classroom. High five to you!

Did you also know that when you carelessly misspell words it says a lot about you as a person and even more about your level of education?
