That means when you make a comment and the person you are talking to has to say the exact opposite just to let you know you are wrong or don't know what you are talking about.
Example:
* We should try that new resturant.
* Have you ever known me to eat that kind of food?
Example:
*Can we look into buying a house?
*What part of WE ARE BROKE don't you understand?
I hope that I'm expaining the word I'm looking for enough that you all can understand me! :)
Thanks

WORD UP

Hmmm...not sure there IS one word to describe what you're explaining, but I definitely know what you're talking about. The word ****** comes to mind...lol. But that word has more of a feminine connotation to it and it sounds like a man would say these things. No offense guys, but it does. It is oppositional and contradictory, but also cruel and demeaning. These kinds of responses infuriate me and if someone is answering you this way you should call them on it and put a stop to it if you can. Good luck.

I am 15 years old. I am great with English most of the time. I think the word you are referring to here is "contrarian."

The other person is telling you psychologically that they are in control. Those kind of people are control manipulators. They don't like to hear that other people has better ideas than themselves.
