Ok. I know I am probably freaking out over something really really stupid, so forgive me. I just got out of the bathtub and noticed just how big my belly is now. The best way to describe this without posting a picture ... right after my boobs above belly button is like really round and protruding. I am worried that I shouldn't be showing up there like that. I am scared it will cut off my breathing and suffocate me or something. It scared me when I looked in the mirror. I am only 17 weeks 5 days pregnant. I am also only 4'9". I have always been worried that carrying a baby would kill me because of my heighth. I know that sounds so stupid! Does the way I described my belly sound normal to you all?? I am really freaking out about this, so all you pregnant or have been pregnant people please reassure this first time mom! LOL

Thanks.

I was a bit overweight before getting pregnant, so I thought I'd be further along before I started to show this much. Is it normal for somebody that was a bit overweight to start with to show this much this fast? I am also short... 4'9". Thanks.

So... I started poking out early... I don't know exactly what your stomach looks like but you sound normal to me. I think its just because shorter people pop out faster.

I am 16 weeks and 6 days pregnant, and I'm 5'2". My doctor told me that your uterus is continuously moving up and this week is an especially big week for your baby to grow and your uterus to move. I've been getting a lot of sharp pains lately but they are harmless growing pains. It happens when your uterus grows and moves. If you are really concerned though, I would see your doctor, your 18 week ultrasound should be coming soon and you will be able to see exactly where your baby is. Good luck!

The reason you are showing that much is probably your height, but don't worry about it. You are just going to stick out more then taller moms. Not a big deal.

you will be fine, remember everything gets pushed up when your uterus gets bigger... plus your height may make you show faster because your stomach doesn't have as much space as a person 5'5". As you get bigger you will feel harder to breath but you will be fine... remember you are still going to get bigger and the bigger you get the mare short breathed you will be. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

SHORT PEOPLE HAVE HAD GOOD LUCK HAVING CHILDREN FOR YEARS. ASK YOUR DR. ABOUT YOUR TUMMY. MAYBE YOUR HAVING MORE THAN 1. I THINK WITH GIRLS THEY SAY YOU CARRY THEM HIGH. I KNOW I DID. YOU CAN STILL BREATH. SOME WOMEN SHOW EARLY AND OTHERS DO NOT. EVERYONE IS NOT THE SAME. BEST TO YOU.
