Free medical care in Lagos,Nigeria?

I know someone from the internet that states he was carjacked in Lagos and is now asking me for money for medical care. States he doesn't have funds any longer for this medical care due to the robbery. Am I being scammed?

Of course. It reeks of being a scam! Cut off all contact with this person.
