OMG! you will so miss it......when i graduated high school i was so happy for the first couple of years but now i wish i was back i think its because you get so used to the highschool scene and since people dont like change its hard some good advice though if you can afford it go to a good college but dont fall into the drinking/drug scene i have seen so many people die or just be in such a bad way because of drugs/alcohol its not worth it....i will tell you a secret the best thing about being outta highschool you dont have all the niches i mean you still have them to a point but not as bad and the biggest surprise is the people who you hated in highschool are the people who will end up remembering you and stopping you on the street or at the mall and striking up conversation with you and get this its usually the stuckups and the people who were jerks to you (ppl you would of never even given a second thought to) you will absolutely be floored....good luck

Let me guess...you have no plans to continue your education by going on to college and graduate school. Am I right?
I graduated high school in 1972. A class with 850 kids in it. Walking away from that building, I realized that I would never again walk through those doors as a person who belonged in the building. I was now a stranger, a guest who needed a hall pass, a memory to some of the people a bit younger than me and a total stranger to the majority of under classmen who I never met.
There is a weird mix of relief to be done with testing and schedules and dealing with teachers I didn't like, and some very real sadness at knowing that I will never see 90% of those people ever again in my life. Next year, it will be 35 years since that day and as I look through the list of "missing" classmates, I don't recognize a lot of the names. There are names of people that I spent 12 years with, from kindergarten to senior year, and one minute after graduation, we turned and went our seperate ways as if we had never known each other.
Ther are friends that I still see and the bond we have after all this time is irreplaceable. These are the only people outside your parents and your siblings who have known you this long. They knew you before you knew who you wanted to be...before the bras, the driver's license, the crushes, the breakups and all the other superb drama high school offers like daily sitcom we just don't want to miss.
You WILL miss it. You have a whole year ahead of you. Try and meet someone new each week that you have previously avoided or not met. You'll be amazed at how much you have in common with people you never talked to before. Take a million pictures and BE KIND. Remember, people will be remembering you too.
It's up to you if they remember a really nice person or beeeotch they avoided. Chose wisely.

It mostly depends on how well you connected with the classes and stuff. Every person is different. For me, I don't miss anything about the school itself, but I do miss the social life. Even if you go to a college with some of your friends, you'll lose about 90% of them after graduating. It becomes a much more silent world. (c/o 2004)

My daughter graduated in 2004 for the next few months before she found a P Time job she was lonely. Either get some employment or go into post-education. The worst thing to do is to find yourself alone for a few months not knowing what to do.

Obviously high school didn't help you out much. That aside, I felt so happy to get the hell out. High school was the most horrible place I've ever been. I wasn't a nerd, or someone who got picked on, but I hated everyone there. They were all white trash whores and man whores.
Be happy it's almost over.

I was sad to be leaving my friends. I was worried about the future, which suddenly was in front of me. I no longer felt the safety and security of people telling me what to do, but I was excited about that freedom. Graduating is a moment in your life you will always remember, that is one thing I can be sure of. Make the most of your senior year. Study and learn as much as you can. Learn to spell, for one thing. "Hole" is a place where there is no dirt. "Whole" is something in its entirety.

You will probably miss it but if you go on to college, then you will have a whole new set of memories. Just don't be like those people who grow old and act like they're still in high school and totally live in the past. But it's nice to have good memories of school.

That's the best time. You develop more intense friendship bec. less strssful and lots of extracurricular activities. I miss highschool and enjoy every minute of it, whether good or bad. Usually when one reminisces in the past and hear a song it's usually associated with highschool life. More carefree and more time to listen to music I guess.
