I know this sounds stupid but how do you do it. I haven't done it in a long time.

you flip the second fraction, then multiply them both

You invert the fraction that is in the denominator and multiply across after you simplify.

For example,
1/4
-----
1/4

1/4 X 4/1 = 1

1 + 1 1 x 2 2

multiply by the reciprocate. (reversed fraction) if your problem is 4/15 divided by 3/16, then your answer would be 4/15 x 16/3

When dividing fractions don't be shy, flip the second and multiply!

Also multiplying fractions isn't a problem, top by top and bottom by bottom.

multipy by the reciprocal (fraction made by switching the numerator and denomonator)

ie: 1/2 / 1/4 = 1/2 x 4

Multiply the reciprocle of the denominator.

ex: 1/2 = 1/2 * 4/3 Then multiply straight across.

1 * 4..........4
------- = ------ (reduce) = 2/3
2 * 3..........6

you keep the first fraction the same after you simplify if you have to simplify then change the division to mutiply and then simplify the second fraction if you have to then flip. my teacher caled this KCF (keep it, change it, flip it)
