I had an ultrasound done at 13 weeks to make sure that the baby does not have down syndrone. This is a normal procedure. - I was told that the baby looked okay and the probability of something being wrong is 1 in 10,000. At 19 weeks, I had another ultrasound (level 2) - to see how the baby's growth is going - everything was normal but she saw a cyst on the right side of his head. Doctor advised that she sees this in many kids and that the cyst shrinks by the 7th month... Blood vessels form in many sizes and therefore make some larger than others. But has anyone gone through this and if so, was the outcome a positive one???

I had level 2 ultrasounds for my second and 3rd children. They did it for the purpose of checking for kidney issues as I have child with kidney problems. My middle has a cyst on the back, bottom, left side of her head. It was there, and is still there 5 years later. Has never effected her life. Shes a smarty too yesterday she spelt her first, middle, and last name backwards without missing a letter.

I have not gone through this, but you might consider doing some more research on the internet, you never know with the doctors today if you are getting the whole story. Sometimes you have to bring specific questions to them in order to get all the right necessary tests and answers. Will you be going for any more ultrasounds to see how things have progressed? You may be able to request more in order to see how things have progressed in between. I wish you well. I hope that it is in fact something that will go away. I will pray for you.

My niece had a cyst on her arm while in the womb. She was born with the cyst still there and when she was almost a year old the cyst burst. She has a tiny scar but both mom and baby were perfectly fine. My step-daughter was also born with a syst on her jaw line and burst when she was two. There both perfectly fine also.

It's likely that your baby will be fine. Cysts usually do go away. I know this is going to be really hard to do, but try not to worry about it. Worrying only stresses out the baby.
