Because they can, and they want to. Nobody else is allowed to say that word because then it becomes a racial issue. Besides, other people don't know how to say the word the way they say it. Others put the r in the end. Just don't try to call African Americans by that word just because you want to fit in. Because you won't and never will. Just like other races will not completely fit in other cultures. There's always that glass ceiling or wall or whatever you want to call it dividing every ethnicity.

It is used in a context which is not a good example to the youth of America. Slang destroys the English language and, It goes against the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr. and J. F. K. No derogatory slang is good for anyone.

It's just a word. The problem is, people's reactions give these words power. I don't think it should be an issue for anyone to use the word. If it were used more, it wouldn't even be a big deal.

That's a good question. My thinking is they call each other
n ig ga, not n ig g e r. Like us white boys call each other bro or dog. It's a word they use to let the other know that they are their friend.

No matter how many times hip hop artists or young people on the street use that word, it's not ok.
Those people who use it are too young to understand what they are doing.

I feel that black people are simply making fun of their ancestory, but if a person of any onther ethnic background says it, then the word becomes a racial comment. When you think about it, it is both ignorant and hypocritical.

Dude, this question is so old. Look it up in the Yahoo Answers dictionary idiot. Most black people don't even use the "n" word, I know that my wife doesn't.
