Recently moved and was wondering if someone could tell me how to utalize my pc as a television. What components would I need to add on a basic pc setup? Thanks!

buy a tv tuner, quite cheap these things are nowadays. it can be a portable one or a PCI card.

The easiest way to accomplish this task is to get an external TV tuner. You can find lots of it online and you don't even have to open up your computer to install another card.
I'm just setup an LCD to be used as a monitor and a TV for my sister. I obtained an external TV tuner, hooked up the LCD to the tuner and with the included cables, hooked up the tuner to the back of the computer. The external tuner will have a connector for an antenna or cable or sattelite.
With the included remote, you can change your source from computer to TV to AUX (like DVD) or the additional S-Video input on the external tuner. Very easy and sets up within minutes. No software to install. Very convenient as well.

Video cards known as All-in-Wonder cards should have an input for a television. I had one on a computer 8 years ago so it shouldn't be hard to find. The cards are typically a little more expensive.

Your video card needs to have a TV tuner. RADEON cards are popular for this need. Go to Newegg.com and search the video cards for their features and make sure your motherboard is compatible.
