I have a 1983 Jaguar XJ6 and thinking of painting it silver or metallic silver. Would it look good (it has grey interior with gucci seats). If not, what other kind of silver (or other paint) should I paint it?

If you're talking about practicality, I'd stick with Silver or Metallic Silver. Choose the one that will be harder to spit dings with and which covers dust best.

I live in area where it gets dusty and I noticed that all the colors like Red, Blue, and non-grey colors look start looking really dirty when the dirt and dust clings to it. It means you have to wash it more. When you don't wash it, you've got people who like write "Wash Me" on your car.

As for the dings, someone's always going to dent your car when they aren't watching and just open their car door. Some just do it out of spite.

My dad had a really nice Toyota T-100 that was Dark Blue. He kept it in good condition because he was retired and it was kept in the garage with low mileage. Then when he was going to the store, he came back and found that some jerk had taken his key and scraped it along the side of the car ruining it.

As I said, if you choose those other bright colors, any scrapes, dents, and gashes are going to be really visible. Someone suggested yellow. While yellow is a nice color, those dents and dings are going to show up really easily detracting from the look of the vehicle.

When it comes to resale value if you should ever have to sell your car, you'll have a hard time hiding those little dings and stuff. It'll stick out like a sore thumb with buyers who will try to haggle down the price with you.

At least if the car color somewhat camouflages those things, it'll make the car look good.

Light yellow.
Please, not gray or silver. That's SOOOOOOOOOOOO boring, just like 1000 million other cars who are grey/silver.

Why ask for our opinions when we can't even see it? Just paint it whatever color makes it look good, it IS your opinion not ours.
