There are many ways that a Person male or female can relieve stress and its not physical violance nore is it sexual or smoking or drinking etc.
What many People seem to forget is to just sit relax take a small number of breaths in and out slowly at first then sit caimly in a chair or a couch and put your back against the couch as you sit carefully and relax. the more you do this the more it will come as second nature to you and later or as you sit read a good book or magazine.
or just sit relax have a cup of water or juice. look out the window as the wind blows against the trees and here birds singing etc.
when you feel that you have totaly relaxed sit there for at least 5 to 10 more min then after that take a walk with a family member around the block once or twice thus be sure that it is day light still for safety.
or simply go to your room and take a nap on your bed for a few min or so.

I take a deep breath and sort out my thoughts. I think outloud too, that helps me. I eat whatever I want. Do something to take my mind off things. Read. Watch TV. Talk to a friend. Go on the computer.
This is my favorite. ALWAYS WORKS FOR ME!!! I go on to the computer, and go on to microsoft word or whatever wrod prcessor you have, and then I type ALL of my thoughts down. EVERYTHING... every single word. Then, when I feel I'm done, I guit word without saving, so what ever I typed will never ever be seen by anybody and its existence will only be known by me if it had some info or things saying bad stuff about others... :)

Exercise, listen to nature sounds on cd...or actually outside if I am able to. Avoid the tv news and newspapers for a few days. Try to get a lot of rest, write in my journal, play with my pets...good exercise for them also. Sometimes I have a totally quiet day, no computer, phones, calls, messages and so on. I basically turn my home into an " island" and just work in my garden, or sit and read a book. Good luck and have a good night!

lots of ways:

- excersize (I have this fun workout that afterwards I feel the tension leave... and believe me usually I hate anything to do with excersizing(sp)).

- Throwing in a good jazz cd and just chilling in my casa with some tea or an ice cap from timmy hortons

- Playing with my dog. He is always happy so therefore it is contagious.

I either go up to my quiet room and take a nap. I clear my mind of all the things that are bothering me and read a book.

I personally prefer sex, but their are other things also- excercise, night out with the girls, try to find someone you feel really close to and unleash all your worries and see if you feel better after- good luck.
