Walk through the process. Understand the question and the underlying issues.

What are the elements of the electoral college? How does it work? Why is it different from a direct vote election?

What are the basic principles of a unitary government versus a confederacy? What do each of those models require or allow?

Now, for each elemen in the electoral college system, how do that element match the principles of each of the two govt forms?

Giving you that answer won't help you understand the process. Think for yourself. Understand why it works the way it does. The time and effort spent will be much more useful to you in the long run.
