Can I do this myself? What is it worth? How do I know I need this? If I allow the dealer to perform this service, how can I avoid being ripped off? Thanks

Hey I am not one to tell you that your throttle plate is dirty. Does the owners hand book call out throttle body cleaning? Think Not! With frequent oil changes tire balancing rotates fresh air filters every 12,000 miles or so. Inside cabin filters and engine air filters. Use premium fuel like it says on the gas door. Your Infinity will be fine with out putting 120 dollars into the pockets of your service department. Besides electronic controled throttle really have a fit if cleaned and an idle air relearn is not done afterward. No check engine light no need for added on services.

first of all most of dealer "suggested" stuff is just to make u think u need it to make there wallets fat. TB's dont need servicing and if it did then there are some serious probs with ur car. the TB regulates how much air in inducted into ur engine. u need to ask for a detailed explanation of what was done to the TB. U GOT RIPPED AND I WOULD FIGHT IT!!!!! WE ALL NEED TO WORK TOGATHER TO STOP USELESS MECHANIC WORK. if it aint broke or known to break soon dont touch it.
