Oh I doubt you are alone, there are conspiracy nuts out there who see things behind every story that aren't really there.
As for making more of it than it really is, we can't judge that until all the facts are out.

no you're not alone - all the conspiracy nuts will tell you that someone besides who is charged is responsible. Bush did ti - Blair did it - the Israelis set those poor jihadists up for a fall - give it a rest and find a way to believe that these nuts want to kill you. Your hesitance to accept this stuff at face value is a security risk in itself.

Yes, a plot to blow up several planes really is nto much news any longer. Very few people in the US care about things that ahppen in other natins, so if it did not happen in the US, they don't care to hear about it.
