"The Sun is in the east, even though the day is done. Two suns in the sunset, could be the human race is run."

"The sun is in the east, even though the day is done"
this might mean that there is always a new day awaiting us. The sun is always to the east in some extent and we have a new day to look forward to.

"Two suns in the sunset, could be the human race is run"
Although it says two suns, it might mean Jesus returning and the end of this life. There would be a sun and a son. The spellings are different, but it might work.

Artist: Pink Floyd
Song: Two Suns In The Sunset
Album (year): The Final Cut (1983)

....Partway through the song, the lyric "the sun is in the east, even though the day is done" is a metaphor referring to a rising mushroom cloud from a nuclear device...

Maybe it's referring to the sun on diff sides of the world. When it sets on one side it rises on another. Half of the world it's night time, and in the other it's day time. Just a guess.

I'm guessing it's referring to a nuclear war. The other suns are the fireballs.

The death of the parents and the birth of a child (or grand child), that is somehow different....perhaps responsible for the demise of the parents.
