what hard drive would I need and processor. and if ist is available for laptops.

TYAN motherboards can support 4GB to 16GB. But this type of performance is more like a server than a desktop. TYAN mobos are also expensive (two to six times more than a regular motherboard). You will definitely need SATA (serial ATA) for harddrives. It will support RAID (treat all harddrives as a single unit).

The type of processor depends on your budget and your performance needs. The performance returns on your money diminishes rather rapidly at the higher end of chip (CPU) performance. The best performing chips are usually not worth the money as it depreciates rapidly within months.

These types of performance are not available for laptops. The power requirement alone would forbid running it on batteries.
