Seems like you have a software printer (like Microsoft image writer or Adobe PDF) as your default printer.
Go to the printers and faxes under control panel and make sure your printer that you intended to print to is selected as the default printer. Then remember to restart the application before you try print again.

Looks like you pressed the wrong button?
It shouldn't ask to save, it should (via 'File', 'Print') give an option to which printer you'd like to print.
Which software did you use for the paper?
You might try this:
REMOVE the printer in the printer list.
Unplug the printer.
Reboot.
Reinstall the printersoftware/driver.
Reboot.
Replug the printer - but: in ANOTHER USB port! (at the PC side) (not the same one which it was connected to at first).
If printing still fails:
If you have the paper stored on the computer: copy it to a disk or CDR, tell the teacher the printer broke down (or the rat ate the 'already (weeks ago) printed paper and you just found out') and give the disk/CDR.
Oh yeah... Next time: 3 in ones ALWAYS give troubles. It's way better to have a solid scanner AND a solid printer; two machines.

Try saving, as another file name, Reopen as the new file name and see if it will print. Hope that helps. If it doesn't go to your printer's website and click on the Help button, ask your question. It may be anwered in the FAQ section.

Is your printer plugged in. Are your ink cartridges good? Did you set up your PC to have a default printer that is the one you are using?
Find an all night KINKOS save it to disk, or save it to disk and go beg your teacher to let you print it out in the PC lab early in the am.

If you have the printer driver cd, put it in the cd drive and run the driver installation program.
