I need to find something for children ages 6-12 for Halloween. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Also I am not looking to spend a lot of money on this. Thanks!

6 - 12 is a pretty big age range. Depending on what you want to spend, you might want to try the dollar store.

If you are going the no-candy route, get the younger girls the Barbie Halloween that comes out right about now in supermarkets for 9.99, or for less money, some books.

The boys love the new Superman action figures, or even the matchbox cars that come out at Halloween.

For the older girls, you could get them a bag of inexpensive lip glosses, or those boxes of craft beads they can use to bead anything with, like a purse or a shirt.

Older boys (10-12) might like a T-shirt..you can even get them a black T shirt and glow in the dark craft paint and them them do it.

There are several really good kid's books about Halloween - or spooky stories. Hastings usually has quite a selection. There are several really cool CD's that have "halloween" selections on them - like Monster Mash, Witchy Woman, Thriller -etc. Those would be fun.

I would get a plastic pumpkin and put some orange shreds or tissue paper in the bottom - then fill it with that glitter hairspray, black fingernail polish, vampire teeth, plastic spiders, halloween make-up kit, the Halloween book or spooky stories or the CD. A cool small flashlight would be neat, and then lots of good candy - you know- chocolate!!! Then put a black and orange bow on the handle of the pumpkin and there you have the gift, lots of fun things to do and lots of halloween fun inside - and Candy!

I have 5 Grandchildren to buy for and I usually get each one a Halloween bag and fill them with all sorts of little Halloween trinkets , such as Glow in the dark bugs , gummy worms , Play rubber snakes , Halloween cup and straw that sort of thing . I start as soon as the merchandise is out in stores and get a few things at a time . They can hardly wait for each Holiday or event .

The very best gift for children is teaching them to give back. UNICEF has sponsored a "trick-or-treat" for UNICEF drive for many years. Give the children an opportunity to collect coins from family and neighbors and supervise the exchange into a money order. Have them write the note and draw a picture.

A gift? Do you mean what to hand out to the kids Trick or Treating? Candy! But, don't buy the cheap-o Smarties or small Tootsie rolls. Those are usually tossed aside.

The $1 section at Target always has fun things for kids and adults and they change the items up based on whatever holiday is coming up.

Take paper lunch bags, customize them with markers, add candy, and you have an inexpensive set of presents.

Try those tiny little pumpkins (real ones!!) with the faces painted on them-and a little "goody bag".

Get each of them a pumpkin and carve it with them, then give them each a goody bag of candy.
