Maybe because they are the ones closest to you, you expect more from them. You can never fully know anyone, but yourself!

Maybe because you are with them the most and when you come to expect certain things from them. And when they don't meet them it is very noticeable. Were as with other people that you don't know as well you tend not to think so much of the things that they do or say. And also the ones closest to us we always tend to be hurt by the things that they do as apposed to others.

They are the ones we expect the most of and have higher standards for. Unlike an aquitance, coworker, or a neighbor down the street you wouldn't expect much (if nothing) from them at all.

Those closest to you are often the ones you love and sometimes you put them on a pedistal and expect them to be honest, of the best moral fiber. You expect them to be better than you.

The more time you spent with someone, the more you will know their flaws, their negative attitide and atributes... nobody is perfect. At least you knew now who they really are and may choose who among them you can live with or without.
