I've never been, in fact i used to love dressing up as a clown as a kid. But i have a friend who's like 27 and she is terrified of them. She doesn't even like to see pictures of them. Kinda crazy to me.

The makeup on clowns can be very scary.
Where I lived there was a amusement park that had a huge clown head with the mouth open, the big teeth and full clown makeup. The was a recording that did the laughing sound.When I was a kid I wouldn't go anywhere near it when I went with my parents to the amusement park. They would take me out the other exit.
Look at the makeup on the clowns in a movie called Killer Clowns From Outer Space, a combination sci fi movie & black comedy.
Some of the makeup is quite scary.

I never was afraid of clowns, I just think they are more mysterious because the face paint hides there true identity, for example Insane Clown Posse, they wear face paint and dress like "wicked clowns", but yet they sing about murder,rape, and such stuff that possibly can get banned, yet they dont scare me because deep down I know they are human but dangerous and "insane"

OMG! One day i took a friend of mine to the saturday market and there was a clown there doing balloons. I knew she was afraid of clowns, but didnt really think anything of it. THe clown started walking over to her and tried to talk to her and she freaked out screaming and coulnt move. We had to pull her out of site.

not me...it annoys me that people always want something to make them feel better...and then they get it and pretend to be all scared!
a friend of mine is scared of freaking clowns...i make fun of her all the time.
