Two successes? No border security of Lebanon from Syria where Hezbolah gets its missiles \ rockets from. No freedom for the Israeli soldiers kidnapped.

And getting troops from Turkey is a "big success" worthy of a headline? I applaud them getting the Israelis to back off the embargo but thats probably just saving them money.

This seems pathetic to me; why does the media love this guy? The UN seems worthless to me?

There is only one world power: The USA. But some people enjoy deluding themselves into thinking that the UN is one, too. So they glorify the secretary general like he matters a lot more than he does to make themselves feel better in a world where their country and their countrymens' opinions actually matter in global politics, when they really don't in the least.

Also, the current secretary general is a total idiot and is always good for some soundbyte where he is taking himself WAY too seriously and generally offending at least half the world, which is very funny and makes excellent television.

Takes the heat off Bush and it works better than saying hey look out everybody we the corporate world are going to make it very difficult to use the net, so tell you elected officials to support internet neutrality so you can actually read the news from people like you. Oh look at Mikey Jackson , and OJ and that Pederson stuff and the benet kid. The UN guy is an improvement on them anyway.Get your news from LINK, dry and relevant.

The UN is generally worthless. That's because the 5 permanent members of the Security Council prefer this arrangement. The US is of course one of permanent members.
