Methadone? Which can lead to destruction of skeletal muscles or your actual bones.. or something to that extent, I'm not really sure. I know somebody who was on it, and they gained a massive amount of weight in an extremely short time.

Methadone is used to release addiction to heroine and other opiate addictions. It is one of the only ways to release the addiction and sadly many have to use it for rest of life to maintain any balance in life.
I guess would you rather have other health problems or just quickly die from a drug overdose or other drug related issue? I am not sure either one is a great option.

Methadone is also prescribed for chronic pain. I woman was on prescribed methadone for severe and chronic pain caused by a botched operation. She was taking 180 mg daily. She now takes 10-15 mg occasionally. She has never been involved with illegal drugs.
