chances are you probably have just flooded the motor with gas at one time or another. or your not shutting off your choke. after the bike warms up. change your oil and filter then check and see if it still smells of gas. you can also check your spark plugs. if ther black then your to rich if there white your to lean if there brown that's good. as far as your crank seals being hooped? this guy needs to go work on a weed eater. if the bike has good compression and runs fine with no smoke your rings are also fine. i don't think you have a serious problem. could be you haven't changed your oil in a long time. good luck

Do you leave your gas turned on when the bike is sitting? Sometimes the gas will leak thru to the crankcase if the valve is left on. Change your oil, leave the gas turned off and keep a check on it for a short while. If it still happens, I'd get it checked out at the shop.

yes it will hurt the bike you need to drain it and refill with fresh oil. Find the cause to stop it from happening again. I used to get this on one of my bikes because the throttle stuck open. Might be a full throttle acceleration is putting more gas in the cylinder than you can burn and it gets by the rings and into the crank case.

Drain the crankcase. Your carb's float valve may be stuck open letting gas flow past the intake , down the cylinder and into the crankcase.

Often the combination of a malfunctioning petcock and a piece of debris in the carb will cause this.

its bad that means your crank seal is hooped. Its not good for the motor because gas lowers the consistency of oil.

sounds like the carbs need tuned up, dumping too much gas into engine and it will wash down the cylinder walls and cause a lot of damage.

Sounds like blown rings. You need help. Don't ride it until it's checked out by a mechanic.
