One of my favourite horror flicks is "The Changeling" with George C. Scott.
It's an older movie from the mid 70's. It doesn't have the blood and guts made popular by 80's slasher flicks, but it's story-line is one of the best of its time. It still sends chills up my spine.
There is a crazy wheelchair chase scene...and you will never believe how scary a rubber ball can be.
Check it out.
As for comedy? I like movies without the standard beautiful people in them. Waking Ned Devine, and Saving Grace are great films. There is also a little known, but terrific flick called, Rare Birds.

Here are a few suggestions ...
Nightmare on Elm's Street, Saw, Ju On (Japanese version of The Grudge) or The Grudge, since I think I didn't like it as much/didn't get as much of a thrill as I should've just because I saw Ju On first, Dumplings, The Sixth Sense, The Puppet Master (pretty freaky in strange ways ...), Ringu (heard it's way better than The Ring, which I find to be pretty mediocre) ... Guess Who?, Moulin Rouge (okay, so technically more of a musical, but it's funny ... <333), The Royal Tenenbaums, Legally Blonde(?), Dude, Where's My Car? (<333), RushHour 2 (<333), There's Something About Mary!! ... etc. Ohh, and ohemgee ... Zoolander! Lol! I mean ... Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson acting as international supermodels?? XD

Funniest = The Naked Gun 2 1/2

Can't think of any really scary ones. Maybe the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Or the original Amityville Horror.

I will put in a vote for Shaun of the Dead. It is a horror-comedy.

The movie is very clever, although it is British... it combines a zombie movie that is quite scary with a lot of ridiculous humor. It's extremely entertaining.
