Multiply 4 times 8p. Then the plus sign. Then 4 times 4q, then the minus sign, then 4 times -7r. It can't be simplified after you do that.

When you distribute the 4 throughout the problem it is:

32p+16q-28r

Simply do 4*8, 4*4, and 4*7. Put the associated variable behind the number. Leave all + and - where they are in the problem.

I'm not sure you can simplify the problem more than 4(8p+4q-7r). Unlike variables cannot be combined when they are added or subtracted only when multiplied or divided.

you can break it down a little, like this:

4(8p) + 4(4q) - 4(7r)
= 32p + 16q - 28r

There's not really anything more you can do with it.

4(8p+4q-7r)
= (4x8p)+(4x4q)-(4x7r)
=32p+16q-28r
