Try to learn a little Spanish. Many hispanics feel isloated from english speakers. If they are surrounded by fellow spanish speaking folks then they will have a hard time learning english. If you show a little interest they may take this as an olive branch or sincereity. It could help.

I am Hispanic, and I know it's not right to do that. But I've also seen how many of you "Whites" try to keep us from speaking our language, try to keep us out of your neighbourhoods, give us only the worst and low paying jobs, and then complain when we risk our lives to come get a better life for ourselves.

We don't like being treated as third class citizens.

On the other hand, I've noticed that many people are paranoid about this. In most cases, they're not talking about you; they're just having a good time. Nothing wrong with that.

Why don't you open your mind, widen your horizons and learn Spanish? Then you could be enjoying life, as we Hispanics are taught to do.

Dominated by Hispanics? How exactly do Hispanics "dominate" you? I think you're racist, are poorly educated, and have an attitude problem. Get a life. Open your heart, do as Christ taught. And try learning Spanish. It would only improve you.

Man, I'm Hispanic and I always thought I was white....I'm gonna go and get some answers myself.
Look, you can either learn the language if you're planning to live there for a while, or try and befriend one of them individually, they might then be willing to help you bridge the gap with a larger group..If I could, I'd go over there and help you out but I'm sure we live in different countries.
I've lived in this country most of my life and I've only ever ran into a couple of Hispanics like myself.
Maybe you can wear a t-shirt that says something friendly in Spanish..it might just break the ice.
Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens all over the world to many people of different nationalities. It all depends on how far you want to go, if you don't think it's worth the effort then you may need to look at moving somewhere else.(though I imagine this may not be so easy for you) I hope all goes well for you, mi amigo.(my friend).

No matter who what or where there'll always be some people mocking and giggling at others no matter what race or language spoken.
Where I live some neighbours talk in vague
sentences they seem to have a code that who they are talking to knows what they mean but they gaggle and laugh cause others that hear don't understand whats talked about and suspect the talk can be of them! Sorry I don't
have and suggestions but maybe this one might help: Do Onto Others As they Do Onto You! Be ye not a fool.. A fool be tred upon!

learn Spanish. Hispanic people are very tolerant of every one. Hispanics come in all colors makes and models. they might not know English. Spanish is spoken in most Hispanic households so the kids pick it up and they continue speaking Spanish amongst themselves. it's a cultural thing. i doubt that racism has anything to do with it. Hispanics are proud people and their language is the one thing that all Hispanics ( no matter what part of the world they come from ) have in common.

Learn Spanish so you will know what they are talking about.....then respond to them, and most the time they will shut up.

I live in a town that has a lot of immigrant workers, and on Saturdays and Sundays, if you got into a local store, there are a lot of Hispanics in there, and it does seem like they are looking at you and pointing and saying something to one another like they are talking about you. This gets on my nerves. I don't know why they do this, but they do. I am in the process of learning how to speak Spanish, and I have noticed that when I see them talking and pointing, I will greet them in Spanish and walk on, they stop talking.

I don't know why they do this, but they do.

In response to the guy that posted. I have no problem with Hispanics speaking Spanish, nor do I have a problem with you trying to better yourselves, but there are many that do set and talk about us. We have done nothing to you. As for speaking Spanish, I enjoy learning to speak it, but I don't feel it is fair to make us learn it. If we go to Mexico or Spain, or any country that speak primarily Spanish, we are required to learn to speak that language, then why should Spanish speaking people come to America, and expect us to learn Spanish, instead of them learning English?

good luck!!!

Cant beat them, join them!
Or else move out. This is a free world and life is short.
But then if after going round a couple of times and you still cant adapt, consult a psychiatrist ..something could be wrong with you.
