Are you a Trekker or a Trekkie? Who is your favorite character and why?

Gene (Roddenberry) didn't recognize the term "Trekker" however. Somebody once corrected him when he used "Trekkie" on stage. He responded, "Excuse me, did you say 'TrekkER?' The word is 'TrekkIE.' I should know, I created them." [1]. However, it's interesting to note that in the 1991 TV show "Star Trek: 25th Anniversary Special", Leonard Nimoy attempts to settle the issue by stating that the term 'Trekker' is the correct one.

I've heard that Trekkers are nice, average fans who like the show, maybe collect memorabilia, and write occasional fan letters.
Trekkies are obsessive fanatics who own just about everything Star Trek, dress like the characters, attend the conventions, and write fan fiction and web pages.
Between these definitions, I'd have to say I'm a Trekker. I have some Star Trek magazines and a few games and posters. I haven't written a fan letter (yet). I don't even LIKE Voyager or Enterprise, and I haven't seen EVERY single episode of the others.
But a Trekkie sounds like more fun. Just once, I'd like to dress in a red miniskirt costume (from the original series) and buy some Tribbles at a convention.

I'm a Trekkie. My favorite is Janeway because her compassion, leadership, and persistent determination to get home turned me on in a fetish sort of way :)

I think the episodes in STVoyager Seasons 3 - 5 rank among the best shows across all series.

Hmmmm. Very interesting. I don't know what I am. I just like the show (except for the space station thing) and my all time favorite cahracters were Spock and the Vulcan girl on Enterprise.

I'm neither, just a fan of the shows.

As for favourite character .... assuming I'm allowed all the different versions of Trek.... has to be 7 of 9 - for obvious reason to most males

I am a Trekkie.
Spock is my favorite. Because he's Jewish and Vulcan and smart.
