David Lee Roth -- I was on headset running a follow spot and the guy says, "okay he's going to climb the speaker tower and swing across the stage......"
Robert Plant -- Saw Led Zep in '73 -- he was a rock god. Something like 23 years old and cocky as hell.
Frank Zappa -- saw him in '83, he not only conducted but when someone tossed a white bra on the stage, he wore it on his head for half the set. Really, it was kind of a rock/jazz show -- way the eff out there.
ELP -- Keith Emerson in '73 (or '74) has this funky synthesizer thing that blows flames, he goes tearing into the audience. The next night in Phoenix he burns his hands and they can't do the show. It was insane!
Mick Jagger -- I've never seen the Stones, but I'll never forget the tragic look on his face when they showed him the footage of the guy being stabbed at Altamont. I think the movie was Gimme Shelter, but it's been years since I've seen it.
