These snakes will also discharge a malodorous, musky-scented secretion from their anal gland. They often use these techniques to escape when ensnared by a predator. They will also slither into the water to escape a predator on land.

Yes, they will bite, but don't be too scared cause their bite probably won't break skin. Another defensive mechanism with garter snake is that they will mess on youl. You know, poo. Pretty soon though, they will settle down when they realize they are mostly defenseless. But, they won't play dead like a hog nose snake.

yes all snakes bite but garter snakes aren't poisoness.

YES! ALL SNAKES BITE, BUT GARTER SNAKES ARE NOT VENOMOUS. BUT IT HURTS WHEN THE BITE.

They can and will but usually they are a docile creature. They usually only bite when they feel threatened or when they feel the need to protect their young. Even though they bite they are non-poisonous..

they will bit but they really can't hurt you.
these snakes are very good for the enveroment as they eat insect and small rodents.
