recent surgery hysterectomy - resulted in kidney infection feel very weak and depleted lost 6 pounds in one week food not tolerated well - protein supplements are tolerated - will they adversely affect a kidney infection? and how much protein can be tolerated by an infected kidney being presently treated by antibiotics??

Proteins are hard on the kidney, so if you can, eat yogurts. They are good and gentle on the stomach.Ask your doctor also before you take the supplements.

too much protein is not good for your infected kidney.

if you can only tolerate shake type things, maybe try Ensure - or some other lower protein shake.
