I'm 15 now and i'm getting a bit out of shape and gym class really isn't helping. I want to get to a normal weight sometime around the next year. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Simple...Use healthy means of reducing weight.

1.) Stop eating anything with transfats in it, that includes, margarine, crisco, hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils.

2.) Avoid juice, soda.

3.) Drink plenty of water. If you get sick of water have some extra spice hot sauce handy :) Guaranteed, you will want more water ;)

4.) Try not to eat refined sugar, especially 2 hours before bed.
If you do eat refined sugar..includes carbohydrates of different types, make sure to eat a healthy fat along with it for proper digestion.

Healthy oils include: Extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, organic butter, avocado oil.

5.) No fast food.

6.) No pasta unless you are running a marathon the next day.

Your main goal should be to develop long term healthy habits that willsustain you throughout your life. You want to reduce the amount of insulin that your body has to produce.

7.) build muscle. That means weights for 20 minute increments, no more than that or you will loose muscle. The more muscle you have the more callories you will burn.

Eat as many veggies as you want, foods like organic dairy, tempe, brown rice instead of white rice, sprouted breads instead of white bread, apples, raw almonds, pumpkin seeds...anything having a low glycemic load. Do a search online for "glycemic load" and it will list all the different foods. The lower the number, the more of it you can eat.

Do things to boost your metabolism naturally:

> eat spicy foods
> fall in love
>eat half a grapefruit every day

good luck! Try to avoid the starvation diets and extreeme diets. Those will only set you off into the yo-yo of weight gain and loss. Not healthy.
