It was bound to happen, one dresses in a phone booth and one dresses in a dark tunnel on the way to a dark cave. Happens to me all the time.

It's not underwear, it's part of the costume, so that the family jewels don't dangle too loose. All they've got on under that is a leotard, for crying out loud! Besides, the Dark Knight has to wear his Bat-Jockstrap in case Joker tries something funny. And Superman wears a lead-lined one in case of Kryptonite.

It's part of a Superhero coming of age ritual. The Superhero in question wears his underwear on the outside to display masculinity and virility (same reason Wonder Woman does it). This is also the reason thier underwear is in primary colours - to attract the female Superhero on a primitive and anamalistic level.

Superman and Batman are just typical celebrities with endorsement deals. They're pimping for Hanes and Fruit of the Loom.

Do you truly imagine he has time to be troubled about his underclothes, even as he's in a hurry to maintain that female... what's her face. 5. In 1938, people weren't quite common about their underclothes. it truly is basically what they wore. Time to be severe. i receives proper to the point. provide Morrison defined this in his e book great gods. even as Superman replaced into being created (1937-1938) his creators depending his out more desirable wholesome on that of a circus strongman who traditionally wore their underclothes on the exterior of their tights. surely all superheroes costumes are depending on the circus.

A cartoon artist once told me that it is done like that because a superhero is drawn with so much detail in the muscle. The trunks are sort of a "no detail" area. Ever notice there is not really a bulge or any definition in the glutes (butt)?

because back in the day when the cartoons first came out they couldnt show the stuff they do now, like in i love lucy u never see ricky and lucy in bed together or hear her say she was pregnet " she was with child" so now that u see everything and more it would just change the whole scene the way things used to be.
