Was a bad assed kid myself. Quit school at 16 years of age and worked at some low paying jobs as well as breaking the law to supplement my income. When I became 30 years old took a look at my life (had been sober for a number of years by then) and decided to return to school. Got my grade 12 equiviancy and then went on to community college and graduated out of the Correctional Worker Program. Have worked now with young people in conflict with the law for past 17 years. When I first began thought I could help many kids, had walked the walk so could talk the talk. However, soon learned that a lot of these kids really believe that the lifestyle that they are currently living is the way they want to live, in and out of custody. Have helped a couple of kids I know for sure and now realize that if can help 1 in 100 or 1000 then am doing my job well. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Ha!

I had always wanted to be a really cool teacher. I went through school with that dream, I enrolled in the local college because of that dream, I was dead set on being the best teacher ever.
I was going to be an english teacher. Then, one month before my graduation, the Colombine Massacre happened. The scary thing was that I knew why those kids did that, and it petrified me.
I withdrew from college before I ever stepped foot on my campus.
A year later, I became disabled through a horrible illness, and I wouldn't have been able to teach, anyways. I then decided to use my skills that I had picked up hoping to be an english teacher. I began to write.
Now I am a writer, through a twist of fate that nobody could have predicted, and it is the best profession I ever could have asked for. My own schedual, my own boss, and an income good enough to barely pay the bills- just like normal people- but the bills are paid.

Well i want to be a journalist or an OBGYN. From way back when i was in the first garde i always though i wanted to be a docotr. Then as i started high school i realized that the type of doctor that i wanted to be was an OBGYN. Then in the middle of High school i got real interested in news, and i decided i wanted to be a journalist. Now i'm really passionate about these two things and i still haven't decided as yet. Maybe i'll double major in college in biochem and journalism and maybe after i'll know.

In undergrad, I played around with many different majors and ended up graduating with a degree in psychology. A couple of times, my mind wandered with nursing, but I looked at the curriculum and got scared of all the sciences and maths and decided to do psych. My best friend was also during nursing at the time and I didn't want to appear that I wanted to be like her. she kept insisting that I do it, but I was too close to graduating. A year later, here I am, taking pre-reqs for nursing school. I quit my salaried job and went back to school to apply to some BSN/MSN program in or around TN. You just have to follow your dream it may take you a little longer, but you have to do it.
