earlier cars were available in green, red, blue and grey. In fact, in the first year, Model T Fords were not available in black at all. The switch to all black cars was likely due to Ford's optimization of the assembly line and to reduce the time lost waiting for the various paints to dry. In 1926 colors other than black were once again offered, in an attempt to boost sales.

Actually early brass era Model T cars were quite elegant I would have thought Henry would choose dark blue or red to show off the brass gas lights and wooden magneto/spark box. And wooden spoke rims with hand pinstriping. Tufted leather seat and brass throttle and spark controls at the brass center steering wheel with wood rim. Tin Lizzy it was not.

Any color as long as its black. this was Henry Fords statement regarding the model t , the car that put america on wheels.The model t went on sale to the public in oct 1908. a total of 10,202 fords are built this year.. this vehical was nicknamed the tin lizzie. i have one. its the greatest thing on earth to me
