To be a pre-school teacher you need a degree in elementary education. You must be accreditied and pass the specialization tests to get accredited. Benefits and medical insurance vary from school district to school district, but expect good benefits and medical insurance. The retirement issue is usually brought up after 30 years of teaching, but may vary from school to school. It is best to speak to the school boards, or principals at local schools to get a better idea of exactly the benefits, salary, and retirement packages availabel, as well as credintials needed.
