I heard that they only crawl or maneuver under fences instead of jumping over them. If anyone has the real answer I would really like to know

The can jump pretty high. The fence has to be very tall for the deer not to be able to jump over it. The only exception is at night. If a deer is blinded by the head lights of a car, it will not try to jump over the fence because it can not see well enough to do so.

Having been a resident of Wyoming and Montana, I can tell you that antelope usually will not jump. That doesn't mean they can't or won't. Although its very rare, I've seen an antelope buck jump a fence. Antelope usually crawl under a fence rather than jump. The real answer is that 99.9% of the time, an antelope will crawl under a fence vice jumping.
