There is this guy... and we are pretty good friends & he doesn't go to my school. But, I want to ask him to Homecoming. But, my question is, My Homecoming is like October 7th.
Should I ask him now, to make sure that he has time or should I ask him when it gets closer to the time?

if you think any of your friends or people who go to your school will ask him first then ask him NOW before he is taken.
if no one from your school knows him then ask in about a week or two.

Ask him now, so he can save money for a suit or tux (If your's is a formal dance). Also, since you are the one asking it would be appropriate for you to pay for dinner beforehand.
