First off, we are talking about "terrorists". The terrorism is based on an "idea" , which has nothing to do with government (anarchy). Nihilism wouldn't apply completely, because they ARE following rules.. their own, founded in religion. So that leaves us with lunatics :)
They need only one of two things to "win"
1. Get you to convert to islam.
2. Kill those that don't convert.
I don't believe they care if they frighten you or scare you. They either want you walking with Allah or dead.

Generally not anarchists, because they don't oppose all govt. Definitely lunatics, and some maybe nihilists.
They win if they cause fear and pain to their enemies. All they need to do is survive the process of inflicting it.

they are barbarians in there mind and dont care what happens to them a bit like britain in there big days they coundent give a fcuk how many men they loose at battle cause they just get back up but know it carnt carry on foreva.

Bush not sending in enough troops to secure Afghanistan and Iraq is a good start. They feel they can just keep picking at the U.S.A. And we will back off.
Our inept leadership is allowing them to gain strength.
