Mainly because they are too stupid to realize that they are bigoted and or racist. Read all the questions posted on the illegal immigration isue. Racism and bigotry are alive and well in the good ole U S of A.As far as why, because it is easier to hate and fear than it is to accept and love.Especially when every 4 years, politicans remind us .

I think it's because even though slavery and all that ended a while ago...there are still small minded people out there. And I have learned to just ignore it. Because I know for some people it's really hard to be the balck girl who has a lot of white friends! NOT TO BE RACIST OR ANYTHING!

Because unfortunately for some of us only time changes. Mentality & ignorance does not take a step forward, instead it diminishes further with time for these people. I can only hope that with all of us who actually see a need & reason for a positive turn from this, that these people's children will not perpetuate these bigoted ways & can learn from us to be spared from their parents' misguided views.

because people are ignorant and they just dont care to learn. they are either too lazy or to set in their ways. the sad illusion that people learn while growing up in biggot societies is that differences are weaknesses, and some people are just threatenned by the differences. you will have to understand that these people just dont know anybetter and it takes more effort to learn about and acept a culture than to cast stones. things are getting better by the way, more and more people are growing up around variances of people and seeing differences and appreciating them rather than staying ignorant. I was born into a largely racist whitebred hillbilly family, and for a while there i laughed at their jokes and i made them to and commented and blamed every social problem in america on those who werent like me because i was just born into it all. BUT, i went to an awesome predominantly black community where i met so many awesome people and sure we didnt share the same music and we still dont, but i learned so much and made so many great friends. and i learned about their wonderful soulful and textured culture. point is, its the same with every culture. people need to learn to think for themselves and stand up for one another even though it may be to family or friends, it may be difficult, but one way to change the world is to lead by example. it makes a HUGE difference. you may not be a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., or a Gondi, they moved millions, but, you can change the things around you, and they change the things around them, and so on and so forth like one of those chain mails but not so annoying.

Color Racism in America is not compared to Religion Racism in other part of the world ... (Just think of the civil wars in Africa , the middle east ...) ...
Why don't you get it ?
Racism is Nature ... Can you fight agaist nature ?
somebody whos is different (Religion , ethnic , Color ...) is not treated as your own people ...
The is the human race ....

People just refuse to grow up.
They have to blame their problems on their racial counterpart.
I'm not defending blacks or whites...because the racism goes both ways.
