Honestly I am looking for a place to talk with other people who are not into the freaky sex talk, just people who are willing to have a conversation about everyday topics. I don't want to pay a fee.

I've been chatting on all kinds of platforms even before the age of yahoo and IM in general for over 10 years.
There was a time when you could go to a room that says for example "Guitars" and actually talk to people about guitars whole day.
It is an alarming statistic that almost all public chat rooms now are either filled with individual sexual maniacs or commercial activity trying to charge money selling porn. If good old fashioned Adult to Adult cyber sex wasn’t bad enough, there had been so many cases of child and teen exploitation. I find it really sad.
As a hardcore chat junkie my advice is to go for real life encounters to find friends instead.

It's the Internet, your not going to get level headed individuals who want to have a conversation...at least on here their not going to act like it. People go in chat rooms to play around, after all isn't that what it's for. Maybe you should try "Pal Talk." That's a alright place to chat, it has messenger and everything. Also you can try AOL...their chat rooms are kinda upscale believe it or not.

I met my fiance on Findsomeone.com. It was a free service close to three years ago, have heard that there is a fee now but am actually uncertain. I bet that all chat rooms and on-line meeting places have both winners and losers so to try and find one that won't have any freaks will be a tall task. Best of luck to you.
