I have a large(!!) head, making it difficult to find frames that fit. I finally found a big tag heuer frame (link below) that fits, but when I got my polycarbonate lenses, my vision was distorted. My optician just ordered me new 1.67 hi-index lenses (similar to ones I had in my old glasses, which had much smaller frames). My prescription is -3.75 in both eyes, PD = 70, CYL = -50, Axis = 180/175.

What kind of lens should I get to minimize distortion and still let me keep these frames??

Thanks!!

i wear glasses too. i never like how i look in glasses, so i went to the doctor and asked if i should get contacts. she said they are not really good for you. you can have an operation when you are 18, that's what i am planning to do. its a really easy surgery. but for now, so that your eyes don't get worse, i would recommend to take special vitamins. take organic ones. try to get ones with blueberry in them, they really work. also ask your doctor, maybe he can give you some kind of drops, i use them right before bed.

Your optician has done the best for you. They can possibly get you 1.74 index from a Hoya lab if they have an account with them.

Poly lenses have had a history of distoting vision...I worked at Lenscrafters when Featherweights first came out. More people than not returned because of distortion and headaches.

Hi index lenses will give you the clarity that you want with your Rx.

Just combine it with a GOOD antireflective coating and you should have no problems.

Ask about non-reflective coating on lenses .I have this done and the distortion stopped.......or get a second exam done by someone else maybe the script is too strong!
