Ok...let's see,

1) Bat_cost = 1.00 + Ball_cost

Ball_cost= Bat_cost - 1.00

That's as far as you can go.

3) Lyllpads = Doubles everyday
It takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long it tale to cover half a lake? 47 days

2) Not sure if you mean a machine produces 5 thingamajcis in 5 minutes...if this is the case, 100 machines will need 20 minutes.

Good luck!

Question 1 there isn't enough info...
Question 2 would be 5 mins. If it takes 5 macines 5 mins to do 5 things then 100 machines can do 100 things in 5 mins as well...
Question 3 would be 47. If they double each day then on day 47 you would have half the lake and day 48 that half would double to cover the whole lake.

Hi!
The Bat / ball question has confused me a little.. Haven't done math in quite some time.

The machine question...
it takes the 5 machines 5 minutes to make 5 objects, 5 minutes per machine to make an object. 500 minutes in total, or 8 Hours, 20 minutes.. I think!!

The lilypads...
47 days

Hope i've helped, i've confused myself in the process =P

Cheers ~!~

a bb costs one dollar less than bat ( thats all you can draw from that)

5 minutes ( it takes each machine 5 minutes to make one thingamajig )

47 days (if it doubles everyday, that means the last day before it was full it was half)
