I started out really hyper, and really into the violin. I progressed real quickly, but i suddenly don't feel like playing the violin as much as before. Do you guys have any sources that may re-inspire me? Maybe modern or outstanding performances. It sucks that no one appreciates the violin as much as before, i can't even join my friends band! and you know violins in bands are awesome.

Go to violin.org and check out the Indianapolis violin competition that is going on right now. It only happens every 4 years. You can watch live streaming video of the participants. The 16 finalist range in age from 16-25. These young folks really are awesome. That may give you some inspiration. As far as your friends band, go get an electric violin, you can get them pretty cheaply these days and take that to your friend. I'm sure they'll beg you to join. Silent violins by Yamaha are cool looking and have great colors. And they don't cost a lot.

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes (I'm a violinist as well). Usually it's just a stage that only lasts for a couple weeks or months, and then I start getting excited again and wanting to learn new things. Give it a chance, and if you still feel that way, maybe playing the violin isn't a thing for you.

See: George Leonard's _Mastery: The Keys to Success and Long-Term Fulfillment_. One of the personality types mentioned in the book is someone who starts out enthusiastically -- typically more than once in different areas -- but runs out of steam quickly, usually because they don't have a mental overview of the long-term commitment it takes to succeed. I highly recommend this book: Leonard is an Aikido master and wrote a seminal book on education in the '60's, _Education and Ecstasy_.

jointly as they could have ripped others off, they did be waiting to have a special sound and have been rather between the few bands that inspired heavy steel and not undemanding rock. Plus they have been the unique rock stars. They have been those first throwing chairs out of hotel room abode windows and smashing their equipment on degree.
