A large number of canals would be present in an isthmus in order to connect the bodies of water on either side of the isthmus. For an example the Isthmus of Panama is bisected by The Panama Canal, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Continents entirely within Southern Hemisphere I'm guessing only Antartica and Australia.

London England would have an earlier time than NYC.

An isthmus is a narrow strip of land, bordered on two sides by water, and connects two larger land masses. an average number of canals would be 2-3, depending on how long the isthmus was.

only australia is totaly in the southern hemisphere, south america and africa are more than half in the southern hemisphere

i think just one continent is entirely in the southern hemisphere, antartic. is australia considered a continent? or is it australiasia?
