Do you realize that if your tongue gets infected you might loose part of it? Yes it could happen.
I don't understand why people want to put holes in their bodies.

Ok, these first answers came from some people with low pain tolerance. Its about a 4 in pain, most of it is pressure from the rubberbands and tongs. The only pain you feel is the poke from the needle. It you have been to the dentist, the shot you get in your gums is about all the pain there is. Make sure who ever does it, is a professional. Theres an artery that runs through your tongue, they need to do it off to the side a bit. Ive had my tongue pierced twice. Be ready to eat KFC mashed potatos for a week because it will be sore. Dont worry you wont have a speech impediment (unless you already do).

I would say it hurts about a 8-9 depends on your pain tolerence. You will talk weird because your tounge will swell for the first few days to the first week. Eating might cause a problem as well. Also remember that with an oral piercing, you have to wash your mouth out with an antiseptic mouthwash after every meal and after every cigarette (if you smoke). If this is something you really want, I would go to the nearest tattoo shop and talk to the piercer. They can possibly give you more advice on the matter.

I was told that it hurts really bad like a 9 or 10. My aunt got hers done two years ago! You will talk funny for awhile you can't eat the same for awhile either! The first week it will be sore! plenty of tea and try to find some Aloe vera juice! it will help the healing process! You can run the risk of getting a keloid on your tongue! It has happened! just be very carefull with that stuff! Because i heard all from my aunt i never went to get it done myself!

1. Depending on how much you can bear pain i'll give it a 7.

2. Yes, you'll talk weird for a few hours cos of the swelling.

3. You'll be able to speak well by the 4 day at least but they'll probable tell you not to eat any milk products for 3 weeks as it heals and you'll also have to get your self some mouth wash "Listerine" for the bacteria and to prevent infection.

Good Luck......

most people say it doesn't hurt at all that the clamps are uncomfortable but the piercing itself is mostly painless.
you will talk funny for a few days until the swelling goes down and you get used to it, however I tell all my clients this you can and should force yourself to talk as normal as possable.
also I saw someone said not to use listerine as it removes "the white stuff"...using listerine is bad because of the alcohol content, if you decide to use it you need to water it down 50%. If your tongue starts turning white you are rinsing too often.

PAIN LEVEL = 3
you may talk a little weird because of the first 3-5 days of swelling.
Once your used to it, it'll be like it's not even there.
Be sure to switch to a shorter barbell once the swelling has gone down because the extra length of a starter bar can cause problems later on down the line!!\

OK first, some tatoo shops can put a numbing med on it, ask if offered id take it.
Without it hurt on a scale 1-10 ....9
10 being a baby
You wont be able to drink or eat anything for a whole day so eat lots before you get it done. All you can do litterally is put ice on it.
also buy you a tube of orajel and put it on it afterwards like a day after to make it not hurt..
The after pain is worst than before.
You wont be able to hardley talk at all for 2 days and you cant eat solid food for abou 3 its takes a bout that long to get use to eating w/ it.
helfull hint get the longest barbell that way when ur tougne swells 3X''s itss size ur bar bell wont hurt ur tougne even more. it will have room to swell trust me its better.
also the 2ed day after wards try sipping chicken broth , slishies and stuff.
also keep seasalt spray on it after eating smokign anything.
yeah i wouldnt get it done and have to go to school in like a week. it takes about 1 week for the swelling to go down,

DO NOT USE LISTERENE its takes all that white stuff off ur tougne and thats the stuff that heals it. all you can put on it is that sea salt stuff and orajel dont do listerine for at least a week

it'll bring a tear to your eye, but just from the clamp, the needle is not as bad as the clamp. tongue piercings are not easy to hide. don't tell your friend but watch how much of her tongue you see when she talks. you will be able to talk normal after like a day or so. just take good care of it, clean tongue, eat foods that won't get rapped around the bar, or stuff hard to brush off your tongue at bedtime.

Don't do it!!! Its an organ!! From a scale of 1-10 its 7. And u cant talk normal for the first week! I think it cooler to do the eye brow! Try that first.

it hurts about 4 out of 10, it seriously is not that bad it feels like a 10 sec little prick, remember that people that peirce have a alot of experiance and they make you feel very comfterble, you won't talk weird once you get used to it being in your mouth, though your tounge will swell up for just a few days and it will be hard to eat, just practice trying to talk normally and you will be fine, trust me when it's finished you will say o what was i worried about it wasn't that bad

good luck
