You could check out the website(s) live365.com and allmusic.com . At least with allmusic, you may want sign up there which then you can sample 30 seconds of records. With live365, you can click on then jazz which it will display all their station that play music which you can play the ones that are yellow icon which with some will display music it plays which you in some cases then click on buy which should bring you to amazon.
I can think of may be one that does or did Jazz piano would be Joe Sample.
You may also want to check out cds that have music by Scott Joplin. His music is more of ragtime era. If you like the music that was played in the movie "The Sting," they are playing his music.

Chick Corea - Akoustik Band, it really is the probable the perfect jazz recording, very loose yet musical at the same time. They play off one yet another like mad. Ray Brown Trio - every person, they're all dazzling. bill Evans Trio - a gaggle. Keith Jarrett's criteria. i'd even attempt Dave Brubeck, he frequently performs a quartet with a Sax, even if that's exciting stuff too.

Thelonious Monk has a solo album, I think it's called Solo. Charles Mingus has one too but I forget the name of it, he usually played bass but his solo album is piano. Try searching Bill Evans catalog, I'm pretty sure he did a solo.

PS-Don't get Take Five, that 's a quartet album.
